How and when did you first become interested in your field of study?

When I was an undergraduate in Sierra Leone, then during my graduate studies in the US I delved further into issues of good governance, human security, civil strife, etc which I could easily relate to my native country, Sierra Leone.

What made you decide to pursue a career in higher education?

Since I was in elementary school I made up my mind that I would one day want to be a Professor. The pursuit of knowledge I find very exciting. Being a professor allows one to read and write, and in the process grow in knowledge and wisdom.

Why did you choose to be a part of the academic community at USF?

USF happens to be a rapidly expanding academic community and I thought it would be more exciting to be part of such a vibrant community, and even contribute to its growth and visibility through research, teaching, and publications.

What do you enjoy about teaching the students of USF?

They are varied, with a desire to acquire knowledge. The variety makes for interesting classes and interactions in and outside of the classroom.

What do you like about the university community?

It offers an ideal setting for professional growth in the form of workshops, grants for travel and research, and security for one to excel.
