Institutes and Centers

Institutes and centers are established within the University to coordinate and support research, service, and training activities that supplement and extend existing departmental and college instruction, research, and service programs.

There are two categories of institutes and centers in Florida public universities:

  • State of Florida institutes and centers which must be approved by the FL Board of Governors 
  • University institutes and centers

BOG Reporting Requirements

To comply with BOG Regulation 10.015, the following forms must be completed. Prior to submission to the BOG, forms must be approved by the appropriate office as indicated below. Once approved by the appropriate office, all forms must be uploaded to the BOG ExpertNet website.

Annual Report

  1. Budget Information - Contact Loretta Sue Kandl in the Provost's Office

Seven-Year Review

In addition to the annual report, a formal review of the Center or Institute is required at least every seven years. The information required for this review is detailed in the BOG Regulation.
